Organizers overview

What you can host on ALLEYKAT and how self-serve race timing works.

ALLEYKAT is built so run clubs, friend groups, and grassroots organizers can put on their own races — no permits, sanctioning bodies, or expensive timing companies. You set the route, the start time, and the rules; ALLEYKAT handles GPS timing, registration, payments, and results.

How to put on an unsanctioned race
Read the short, practical guide to choosing a format, plotting the course, filling the field, and giving race day a proper finish: How To Put On An Unsanctioned Race.

What you can host

  • In-person races — point-to-point, loop, alleycat, scavenger, relay, or backyard-ultra courses with start corrals, waypoints, and a finish.
  • Async races — run any time within a window. Free or paid.
  • Registration-only races — an in-person race with no course in the app. You get sign-ups, the roster, chat, and announcements; you run the race itself off the app and enter results by hand.

Where you manage races

Create and edit races with Create Race on the web or in the app. Manage participants, results, communications, and payouts from the Race Director Dashboard. Real-time GPS tracking on race day happens in the mobile app.
