Discount and comp codes let you offer reduced or free registration for any paid race — in-person, async, or live. Codes are managed by ALLEYKAT, not Stripe coupons.
Discount vs. comp
- Discount code — reduces the registration fee by a set amount or percentage.
- Comp code — fully covers registration; the runner pays nothing.
How discounts are funded
When a code is redeemed, the discount is absorbed by a proportional split of the director payout and the platform fee — so both sides share the cost predictably. Comp codes (and discounts that drop the total below Stripe's minimum charge) skip Stripe entirely and route through the free-registration path.
Redemption
Runners enter a code during registration in the app. The same runner can redeem a code more than once (per-user limits are deprecated). Runner-side redemption is available on iOS and Android.
Note
On web, create and manage codes in the race creation wizard — the Dashboard's Money tab links you there. In the app, manage them from the race director menu.
