The scene
Philadelphia’s unsanctioned racing is mostly cycling, and its dates appear on The Trellis calendar and the Bicycle Coalition events calendar. Citywide Alleycat began in 2020 with about 20 riders, had 154 registered for its fifth edition in 2025 and held its sixth in August 2026; the Philly Bike Messenger Association runs its own alleycats, Phixed Friday puts on fixed-gear races such as the Market Street Mash and the $1 Super Rando, and Cranksgiving Philly finishes at the Philabundance warehouse each November. Crush the Commonwealth, a 383-mile ride across Pennsylvania with no registration or outside help, runs between the Liberty Bell and Pittsburgh each April, alternating direction each year.

How races get in here
The directory is curated by ALLEYKAT. Races timed on the app appear in their city on their own once they have a date or have been run, and everything else is added by hand after we have checked it against the organiser’s own page. There is no form and no fee.
